| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The classic in the field since 1848, this extraordinary reference offers readers unsurpassed coverage of mineralogy and crystallography. The book is known for integrating complete coverage of concepts and principles with a more systematic and descriptive treatment of mineralogy. The revised edition now includes a CD-ROM to let readers see the minerals and crystals, while also viewing chemical composition, symmetry, and morphological crystallography.

Mineral Science (Manual of Mineralogy) 23rd February 28, 2010 EleganzShopper (Santa Cruz, CA USA) I like reading this Manual of Mineralogy (Mineral Science 23rd edition.) It is easy reading for a scientist. It has some color pages of minerals; but most of the book is black and white prints of minerals. There is a lot of interesting material to read in this book. I have had an earlier edition too which I don't have with me now; so I ordered this 23rd edition.

Manual of Mineral Science (23rd ed.) Top in Field! August 24, 2007 S. E. Dee (Denver, Colorado) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This new edition has made several improvements over the last one. The organization is clearer and better prepared. This book provides a better explanation and more detailed examples than other books of this type. The CD is a great asset for readers in comprehending the heirarchy of crystal organization and provides better visualization of the three-dimensional aspects of the various crystal forms and structures.
Mineralogy Textbook September 7, 2008 C. A. Waters (El Paso, TX USA) The textbook arrived about one week after I ordered it - well before I actually needed to use it for class. It has become a good resource for identifying minerals.
