Product Description The most extensive mineralogical pictorial published to-date. This 400-paged full-color book beautifully displays the mineral treasures of the earth. Complete with an easy-reference index to all the minerals. Includes an extensive mineralogical pictorial containing color photos of hundreds of minerals with molecular formulae, descriptions, and localities found. As a sequel to her first two books, Love is in the Earth: Kaleidoscope of Crystals and Love is in the Earth: Laying-on-of-Stones, and due to the multitude of requests for photographs of the minerals discussed, this pictorial was complied to illustrate typical examples of mineral specimens available from our Earth Internationally known, best-selling author of the "Love is in the Earth" series, Melody was born in Cumberland, Maryland, and now resides in the Rocky Mountain region. She is a scientist and holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Art degrees in mathematics. She has been working with stones since she was a child, always evidencing an interest in the geological and mystical properties of these children of the Mother Earth. Due to the desire to share her research and knowledge with her brothers and sisters of the planet, and due to the need to make the information available at the onset of the "Age of Love", she has updated this popular book. In addition to her work within the United States, she has taught crystal workshops in Brazil, the Republic of South Africa, and Australia, and has held private consultations in India and Nepal.

A "must have" for the serious crystal & gemstone collector. December 29, 1996 70 out of 72 found this review helpful
This companion volume to Melody's "Love is in the Earth - A Kaleidoscope of Crystals" is a FULL COLOR mineralogical pictoral. If you have wondered what the less common stones look like, wonder no more!!!
Each of the crystals & gemstones in the text volume is pictured here, both the rare and the common. Ever wondered what a quartz record keeper looks like? It's in here!!
It is the book we've waited for from Melody who never disappoints her readers
The Natural Energy of Crystals & Stones for Feng Shui January 14, 2000 Donna Huhem (Orange County, So.CA. USA) 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
"Love is in the Earth" is an invaluable resource, both quality and amount of info and pics. As a Feng Shui Consultant, I have learned far more about these wonderful beauties, from this book over any other book or classes. Their good, natural energies are available to us, all we have to do is look them up! It is a must have for resource material.
Excellent July 25, 2005 Kristina G. Irwin (Flint, MI USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is an excellent book to have whether you are interested in studying mineral deposits or you are just trying to classify the rocks in your own backyard. The pictures are detailed and have descriptions of not only the stone itself, but also its hardness, locality, and many other things.
Excellent Photographs of Countless Specimens August 9, 2008 M. McDonough This is, by far, one of the best pictorials that I have ever seen. With over 400 pages of photographs of specimens from all around the world, the depth and breadth of the material is amazing. While only very brief information is included with each photograph, that's to be understood since this is a companion book to others in the Love is in the Earth series.
One of my favorite things about this pictorial is that the hardness rankings of each stone is given. So, not only can you identify your minerals, but you can determine which ones would be good candidates for polishing and jewelry-making.
An Amateur Rock and Mineral Collector's Dream September 1, 2008 D. Jones-Musial (Salem, OR United States) A beautiful book, chock-full of professionally-photographed picutres of gems, stones, rocks and minerals. Alphabetically arragned, the chemical composition of each item is included, as well as wonderful photographs taken of high quality specimens. I consider this a companion book to Melody's first work, "Love Is in the Earth: A Kaleidoscope of Crystals", which describes the metaphysical qualities of each stone.
This is a wonderful 'mini-encyclopedia' of gems, rocks and minerals for those who want to identify pieces, or would like a brief introduction to minerology on hundreds of specimens.
