Overall, an excellent book on Geodes and Thundereggs with great photos. My only problem with it is the fact that very few of the pictured specimens had dimensions listed! It would be great to know what size Mineral you are looking at!

I have been collecting geodes since the 1950's. I am pleased that there is finally a book didicated to the science of geodes. The text explains how these beautiful natural treasures were created, and where they can be found. This book contains beautiful color photos of most types of geodes.

This is a fantastic book to acquant yourself with the different types of geodes and the processes that formed them. Easy read for a novice to serious collector or student. Well illustrated, too. I have been collecting geodes for several years, but I have just recently begun to appreciate the multitude of types from various locations around the U.S. I found each chapter helped further my understanding of these wonderful gems that nature has created. Frankly, this is the best book that I have read on the subject yet! I was not disappointed.
